Well I'm back and it is now time for the traditional split style of reporting.

0 Kelvin

Toilets were pretty rank.
Rain steeling my keen
Loosing the IC cash in the bottom of an OOC house (ah well will be a nice surprise when I find it)
Falling over and not being able to stand unassisted.

298 Kelvin

I don't like THAT hill

3,000,000 Kelvin

Pretty much everything else
Escecially roleplaying with my faction (you is all great)

Surgical Consult

I saw the surgeon today and she said they would be best to chop off the lumpy bit of my foot and straighten it out. Apparently there's only a 1 in 10 chance that it'll all go tits up and they'll have to chop the whole thing off, so looking good there.

Reply to this post and I'll post 5 words that I associate with you

Sadness

I am not alone with being sad at the moment. Mostly I get on with life with wit, style and a complete inability to accept that I have neither.

Feet

I've had a problem or two with my feet. Currently they are not very good (having prevented me from attending Outcast). Surgery may make it all better, it which case I move another step closer to my dream of being bionic.

Stories

I like stories but am not good at telling them. I suppose being a LARPer I live in stories, which suits me as real life sucks at the moment.

Blue

This is my favourite colour.

It's the colour eyes of my favourite person (it is also the colour of my eyes, possibly the strangest thinf about that is that these two people are not the same)

It is also the colour we chose for the Spears of Lugh, the LAEP group that a bunch of friends created so that they could go and have some fun in the Harts. Good friends, good memories and a good faction to have fun in. Although I think I am unique in being in a group of 1 and still not being the grup leader.

Fae

My most long lived (which has probably condemed him to a nasty end) LARP character is fae. He has a rich, detailed and somewhat contradictory back story.

Sadness, feet, stories, blue, fae

The GEF 2009

Hot

1. I wasn't cold at night.
2. Bacon Rolls from the "Spit Roast Man"
3. Seeing friends

Not

1. Sun - I really don't do sun (see 2), anything over 20C and I'm in trouble
2. Heat Stroke - It would seem that I wandered about in the bright sun too much on Saturday, so I don't remember much of Sunday.
3. Falling asleep in a chair and damaging the nerve in my leg
4. Needing to be in the Unicorns and the Wolves at the same time!

Post GEF Nots

1. Foot breakdown. No skin across the sole of my foot right across the arch and up the side, now am on both oral and Intra-muscular antibiotics (which is literally a pain in the arse).
2. I cannot make "Serenity" on health grounds, grrr.

*sigh* 10 out of 10 for the event, minus several million out of ten for the aftermath.

Shiny:

- The fruitfarm area, liked the new place, made it feel different. Harts camp was in a very good position
- New makes system, was great (all makes turned round within 10 minutes!)
- Being fixed.
- Wearing armour (and not falling over after one hit)
- The old new Pally loresheet
- A new direction for Solarian is opening up.

Rusted:

- The weather (I'm getting old)
- My new bed breaking (must eat less pies)
- Changes to pally and abberent loresheets making me harder to fix (Until the Edward and the Harts done me in the circle).

Would you ever go on a silent retreat? How long do you think you could go without talking?

If I'm occupied then I could go without talking for weeks.

It was announced today that the company is giving a 6% pay cut to everybody and stop contributing to our pension scheme. Oh well, at least I've still got a job I suppose.

Well after finding that I only had £150 in my bank account with my Mortgage, the electic bill and the payment for the LT mainlines to come out I rang up the bank, but didn't have my phone costomer id or phone pin, so eventually got that sorted and found out that EDF Energy had taken out £1000. I immediately phoned to rant at them, but due to snow in the SW they#d shut early (que me ranting at everyone else instead).

Phoned up on Saturday morning and a nice lady answered the phone so I couldn't rant at her. Apparently it was put down to human error as I was in credit and they returned the money, but it might take a few days. They did say to phone them if I incurred any charges as they'd pay them too.

Ah well it's all gone and I am calm and serene once more.

Having been back at work full time since the beginning of the year I am now in need of a holiday.

Hugs to everyone that is in need of hugs today.

Holiday's Start

Yesterday I went to hospital for the fitting of my bioinc eye. It took about an hour from arrival to being sent home. Everything on that side is too bright and made my eye and head ache. It's little less so today, hopefully it will be used to light again soon. Having stereoscopic vision and peripheral vision on the left side is very strange indeed, though I doubt it will make my fighting ability improve.

The good news is that I'm on holiday until the new year, so a big yay there.

The bad news is that I can't focus on my PC (unless it's 10ft away), so have to shut one eye to use it. Ah well, if only all my problems were so small.

Enjoy the holiday period (which ever flavour you are).

Have been to the eye doctor, they're going to operate on my eye. Woohoo, no more being blind on the left. He said they'd correct the short sight too, so no glasses. Hope it all works, and hope I can convince work that it's not so big that I should stop my graded return to work.

Bad stuff is that it's a local anaesthetic in the eye (oh joy).

Slowly I am realising my dreams of being bionic and taking over the worrrrrlllldd.

It's been a while...

It's been a while since my last post. I'm all packed for tomorrow, just got to chuck it all in the car. I've also got some money left 2 days before payday! Yay, no hideous bank charges, or overdraft caused by them, for me next month.

I should be back online properly by the beginning of September (hopefully coinsiding with my return to work).

I decided that I would start on the task of replacing all the albums that I had on cassette with either mp3 or cd versions, the list won't take too long, I thought. Blimey I had a lot, most of which are sadly now longer with us (thanks to cheap walkmans being ever ravenous for there ferric oxidey goodness, or chrome dioxidey come to that). Oh well, maybe I'll start on the scratched vinyl that I need to replace (that'll be much quicker).

As I asked for it from [info]sack_boy

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List 5 songs you like that start with that letter
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

He gave me an S for Solarian

My 5 songs for S

Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants - I can't really say why, I just like it. It was on the first album that I ever bought.

Sploosh! by Ozric Tentacles - It reminds me of college and the thoroughly enjoyable reasons for failing chemistry first time round

Silver Machine - Hawkwind - I got into Hawkwind when I was at college (before the whole Ozric debacle aluded to above). Silver Machine is one of the few that seems to get known outside Hawkwind fandom, it was release in 72 and got to number 3, the released in 76, 78, and 83 (thank wikipedia)

I could go on with Hawkwind (Song of the Sword, Steppenwolf, Sonic Arrack etc etc) but I'll limit it to just the one

Sting of the Bumblebee - Manowar - Flight of the bumblebee played at fast speed on a guitar.

Spirit in the Sky - Dr and the Medics cover.

There all done.

In a fit of dangerous experimentation I ventured down the dairy section of the supermarket, phasing between the other shoppers. In there "finest" section I spied many blocks of fermented curd, buried inside them were the marvels of the fruit world. White stilton and blueberry, wenslydale and blueberry, white stilton and apricot, all of these were known to me. Then I saw it, the nimbus of divine light picking it out from it's ordinary brethren, Wenslydale with Rhubarb and champagne. So I purchased this gem from the merchant and sampled it's delights, and such delights they were, for it tasted of cheesecake.
